Colin & Karen Greene invite you to lose yourself in the breath-taking and awe-inspiring surroundings of the grand northeast.  Unblemished white sandy beaches, mystifying hiking trails amongst beautiful pines copses, ancient fortresses in the county of castles, and a natural haven for wildlife enthusiasts are but a small offering of what is waiting to be discovered within minutes of our doorstep.  Walk, trek, climb, cycle, run, swim, eat, drink, renew, laugh and love.  Come and be revived.

Of course you'll need peaceful accomodations to unwind and rest.  For this reason Colin & Karen have transformed what used to be Colin's library into a private, en-suite room for guests, The Woodpecker Mill, named after Woodrow (a very frequent flying guest). Only one room is available for no more than two guests (with the exception of your furry friends of course).  And everything is absolutely brand new and lovely!

The Woodpecker Mill
is situated amongst a cluster of steadings that many years ago were part of a working farm.  Today these steadings have each been uniquely restored to their original beauty but with all the amenities of the 21st century.  Our home was the previous mill.

The Woodpecker Mill, in the heart of Northumberland,is located just 6 miles from Wooler 8 miles from the costal town of Bamburgh, 12 miles from the Borders, 14 miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed and 16 miles from Alnwick

And if this is not enough to entice you to stay at The Woodpecker Mill then your breakfast in the morning surely will.  A full-english breakfast is yours for the asking but Karen, herself an American, finds it difficult to imagine you resisting her homemade buttermilk pancakes topped with fresh berries and a drizzle of maple syrup.

Hope to see you soon!
